Tamper-evident material
Every strip is printed on a tamper-evident substrate engineered to leave a visible void mark if it's peeled or replaced, so a swapped label is designed to be obvious at a glance.
Secure Mapping. Controlled Access. Traceable History.
Memory Scan links a physical item to a tamper-evident Memory Strip label. The first device to scan it becomes the authorized device. Devices that are not authorized cannot scan or access the Memory Strip. Only the authorized device can initiate a transfer, and the recipient device must validate the transfer credential before it becomes authorized.

Authorized scans and completed transfers are recorded in the Memory Strip's history.
Memory Scan is designed to support item identification and controlled authorization across a range of business and personal applications.
Interactive demo
This is an illustrative walkthrough of the sequence a Memory Strip goes through in the field — it does not connect to a live backend. Scan the strip with a first device, watch a second device attempt to scan and be denied because it isn't authorized, then deliberately transfer authorized access with a transfer credential. No sign-up required — it runs right here.

Scan the Memory Strip with Device A to make it the item's first authorized device.

Transfer complete — Device B is now authorized
Device B validated the transfer credential, became the authorized device, and can now scan and access the strip. The completed transfer was recorded in the strip's history.
Request Memory StripsHow it works
Four deliberate steps, built around one simple object: a tamper-evident Memory Strip label on the item itself.
Apply a tamper-evident Memory Strip to the item. Scan the unique barcode or QR code with the Memory Scan App to establish the authorized device.
The first device to scan a new strip becomes its authorized device automatically. Once a strip has an authorized device, other devices cannot scan or access it unless the authorized device deliberately transfers access to them.
When the item changes hands, the authorized device issues a transfer credential, deliberately handing authorized access to the new device.
Authorized scans and completed transfers are recorded in the Memory Strip's history for later review.

The Memory Scan app works with supported smartphone and tablet cameras — no separate scanner required. Use it to scan a Memory Strip, review its history, or issue a transfer credential from wherever your team is working.

Filter by what you care about most. Every Memory Strip works with the Memory Scan system to connect the physical item to controlled access and traceable history.
Every strip is printed on a tamper-evident substrate engineered to leave a visible void mark if it's peeled or replaced, so a swapped label is designed to be obvious at a glance.
Each Memory Strip carries a unique, scannable barcode and QR code pair. Each Memory Strip carries a unique barcode and QR code associated with that strip.
The first device to scan a new strip is automatically recorded as its authorized device — no extra setup step required.
A device that is not the authorized device cannot scan or access the Memory Strip unless authorization is deliberately transferred to it by the currently authorized device.
Authorized access moves between devices only when the currently authorized device issues a transfer credential and the recipient device validates it.
Authorized scans and completed transfers are recorded in the Memory Strip's history, including relevant event details such as time, device, user, location, and notes.
Security
Memory Scan's access-control model is built around the Memory Strip and authorized devices, rather than shared account access. Here's what that means in practice.
A strip has exactly one authorized device until a deliberate transfer changes it. There's no shared access to manage.
A device without authorization cannot scan or access a Memory Strip. Access only moves when the currently authorized device deliberately issues a transfer credential and the recipient device validates it.
Access only moves when the currently authorized device issues a transfer credential and the next device validates it to become authorized.
Memory Strips are printed on tamper-evident material designed to leave a visible mark if a strip is peeled or swapped.
Review a traceable history of authorized scans and completed transfers. Scan records can include the registered user's name or phone number, date and time, scan address, and notes. During a scan, a user can record a password or verification phrase in the notes, then check it during a later scan to help verify the item's identity and spot potential label replacement — this is a helpful check, not a guarantee against tampering. Completed transfers are recorded, and unauthorized access attempts are denied and are not added to the history.
Works with supported smartphone/tablet cameras — no proprietary scanner needed.

A device that is not authorized cannot scan or access the Memory Strip. Only the strip's currently authorized device can deliberately initiate a transfer, and the recipient device must validate the transfer credential before it becomes authorized.
Open the strip's record on the authorized device and generate a transfer credential, then share it with the receiving device. Once that device validates the credential, it becomes the new authorized device and the handoff is written to the history.
Yes. Every strip is printed on tamper-evident material engineered to visibly show tampering.
Yes. Memory Scan maintains a history of authorized scans and completed transfers. Each recorded scan can include the registered user's name or phone number, the date and time of the scan, the address where it occurred, and any notes added during that scan. Users can record a password or verification phrase in the notes during one scan and check it during a later scan to help verify that a Memory Strip has not been replaced. Completed transfers are recorded in the item's history. Attempts by unauthorized devices are denied and are not added to this history.
When scanning a Memory Strip, an authorized user can add a password or verification phrase to the scan notes. During a later scan, the user can review the notes and compare the recorded password with the expected value. A matching password helps the user verify the item's identity and identify potential label replacement.
No. Any supported smartphone or tablet camera can read the barcode or QR code printed on the strip. There's no proprietary reader or extra equipment required.
